ACTS 2:38 Come Let Me Show You the Words of the Lord!

Misinterpreting Acts 2:38 has landed more people in hell, perhaps, than the any other single verse in the Bible.  Find yourself a “so-called Christian” heretic and there is a good  possibility that he or she has built their heresy while doing the backstroke in Acts 2:38.   All the soaking wet theologians, including the Church of Christ cult, the Roman Catholic cult, plus the Oneness Pentecostal cults and others lose their spiritual sense when reading this one verse in Acts chapter two.   Pentecostals/charismatics  stumble and fall flat on their faces in Acts 2:1-21, and the situation gets much worse when they stagger up to Acts 2:38.  All of the soaking wet cults climb as high as they can on the tower of unbelief before jumping off yelling Acts 2:38, and then do a belly smacker into an eternal lake of fire!  But Ezekiel3 has good news!  We will attempt to drain the baptistery on the Pentecostals, shove the Church of Christ into a dry creek bed,  and shut the sprinkler system off on the Roman Catholic Church as we study in the AV1611 Holy Bible.

You can go to hell soaking wet and if you depend on Acts 2:38.  Do not and I repeat do not be surprised if you find yourself clothed in filthy rags (although soaking wet) at the White Throne Judgement while screaming in a self-righteous voice, “What about Acts 2:38?”.   Well what about it, lets continue, shall we?

PART  ONE

I’m going to prove to you with scripture that a person can be baptized and still go to hell just like all Roman Catholics, the Campbellite, and Oneness Pentecostals/Charismatics who depend on the “good work” of baptism to save them.  Scripture records the account of a man who healed the sick and cast out devils and was baptized who did not make it to heaven, but instead wound up in the Bottomless Pit.  Then it is recorded in scripture that this same man repented himself and wound up in the Bottomless Pit.  Don’t forget all this happened in spite of him being baptized.  Do you not realize that a man can cast out devils, heal the sick and be baptized and still go to hell?  You say I do not believe that could happen under any circumstances.  Is that so?  Read Matthew 10:1, 27:3, and John 6:71.  Amen?  Come on once more, this time with feeling.   AMEN!

PART TWO

If you read the scripture references in Part One you will notice that Judas did some of the same things that Oneness Pentecostals/Charismatics, Church of Christ, Roman Catholics and others do; including water baptism; all in the name of religion but ended up in the bottomless pit.  As the publisher of Ezekiel3 I use a sarcastic yet humorous style of writing to get and keep you as I draw your attention to some devilish false doctrine or heresy that damns mens souls and contributes to the last day’s Laodicean apostasy.  It would do everyone reading this post well to follow Jesus commandment in John 5:39 and search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life.  Thinking; ye have eternal life; is the problem that all water regenerationists have.  The apostle John told us; that these things scriptures were written that we may know we have eternal life and the life was in Jesus Christ; not water baptism.  Even a superfluous reading of Hebrews or Romans would point out to any one that our salvation is dependant on the blood of Jesus Christ and not a bapistry filled with  water.  I leave you with the following question to ponder.  If water could remove the sins of the world, why did Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross of Calvary?

gary; It was after mid-night when you wrote this nonsense, let’s chalk up to lack of sleep. Goodnight. Bro. Ray

gary: When I compare the beliefs of modern churches with the New Testament church I am appalled. I the apostle Paul, the apostle to the gentiles could see what’s passed of as Christianity today he would not only roll over in the grave, he would be spinning at high rotation. Lutheran baby sprinklers, you got to be kidding? Bro. Ray

  3. gary says:

Which Christian denomination today is closest to the Early Church of the Apostles?

I would suggest that you consider taking the following approach to answer the above question. Look at the doctrinal statement of each Christian denomination and ask these questions:

    1. Do the beliefs/doctrines of this Church seem compatible with the plain, simple rendering of Scripture?

Any belief or doctrine that requires that the plain, simple rendering of multiple passages of Scripture be twisted/contorted and re-interpreted to fit with the Church’s doctrine, is suspect.

    2. Any Church which claims that multiple passages of Holy Scripture were poorly translated, in every major English translation of the Bible since William Tyndale, either due to unintentional incompetence or due to an intentional conspiracy to translate the Bible with a particular theological bias, should be considered suspect.

No Bible translator for the last several hundred years has been in danger of having his head chopped off for not translating the Bible in deference to the King’s Church and the King’s theological positions. Modern Bible translators are more concerned with “getting it right” than with angering/alienating a particular denomination. With the advent of the world-wide web, it is impossible for anyone to intelligently argue that a conspiracy exists today among ALL Bible translators to perpetuate the “lies” of past translators.

    3. Compare the beliefs of each Church with the beliefs of the Early Christian Church. Are they similar or very different? Is it really possible that the entire Christian Church became apostate with the death of the last Apostle, so that ALL early Christian writings, save the Bible, are untrustworthy? Are the writings of the early Christians completely useless in determining true Apostolic doctrine and practice as some denominations assert?

I personally have used the above criteria to come to the conclusion that the Evangelical Lutheran Church comes the closest to the beliefs and practices of the Early Apostolic Christian Church. If you can prove to me, using the criteria above, that another Church/denomination is even closer…I am all ears!
