Fear God
~ I have always made it a practice in my preaching to tell people they need to Fear God. It is the sane, healthy thing to do. Now back when God offered Israel the chance to be His people>if<they would agree to obey the law. They of course said they would. Then Moses speaks to the scared to death tribes; Ex.20:20 “And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.” He said remember how mighty and… fearful God is>>it will help you to not sin! Not sin so God won’t have to destroy the nation and send you into captivity.
~ Of course later they went into complete apostasy thus God fixed them; Isaiah 63:17 “O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.” God in his foresight knew what they would do so He hardened their heart TO CEASE TO FEAR HIM! Now look at God rebuking them in Jeremiah for not fearing Him;
Jer.2:19 “…thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.” Look at their lying preachers in action; Jer.23:17 ” They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.” [LIARS]
~ You see the people ceased to Fear God. God put a lying spirit in the mouth of all their prophets as with Ahab’s bunch (1 KI.22:19-23). Jeremiah got it; Jer.4:10 ” Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.” Ah Peace, as in 23:17 and many other times in Jer. The Jews are still lost as a goat in a hailstorm today because of this. It won’t get any better till God fixes them up again in the Trib. Now how important is it for men to Fear God? Look at what God is going to do for the Jews when He finally fixes them up….
Jer.32:39 “And I will give them one heart, and one way, >>>that they may fear me for ever,<<< for the good of them, and of their children after them:
40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but>>> I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.”<<<\~ And that my friends is why as long as God allows me to breath I will proclaim {{{ FEAR GOD }}}.
