The following post is from the heart and mind of Dwane Karr while he is recovering at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. I am relaying his message as I receive words and thoughts from him by phone.
1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
The above scripture, describing willful sin is obviously from the New Testament and continues to the modern churches till this very day. The heresy of health, wealth, and happiness for the Christian began long before Paul penned the above words to Timothy. Paul himself benefitted from the PROSPERITY GOSPEL before his conversion to Christ.
Galatians 1:14 And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
Paul realized early on in his walk with Jesus Christ that the things esteemed highly by men profited nothing. Hence, under the careful guidance of the Holy Ghost he wrote the words of God for the ages and God preserved them for this age in the AV1611 Holy Bible, saying in Phillipians chapter 3:
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
Before the coming of Christ, mankind was warned by God against perverting the words of God for gain; whether it be a BRIBE in the form of CURRENCY or the APPROVAL of other men.
Exodus 23:8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. Jeremiah 23:36 And the burden of the Lord shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.
God continues in the New Testament writings of Paul under the direction of the Holy Ghost and admonishes and warns us of this MODERN DAY; Blab it and Grab It; gospel flooding our modern media; falsely; as though it were from God.
Hebrews 13;5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
