Many professing Christians are theologically wrong about Christmas as well as Easter. Ebenezer Scrooge was originally right about Christmas; but he was right for the wrong reasons. Bah – Humbug was right for Christmas and applies equally to Easter as well. Don’t hang up, let me show you the words of God and your knowledge of this pagan Easter holiday thrust upon us by the Roman Catholic Church will supersede that of more than ninety percent of preachers in pulpits on Sunday morning. Let’s go first to the source of all truth in the AV1611 Bible. Acts 12:4.
And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
Here as always the Holy Ghost was directing the AV translators and they used the word Easter, and for a reason. Most all Roman Catholic influenced perversions of the scriptures rend; and I do mean rend; the word Easter by changing it to Passover. Some may argue that this change is made to exact the time that events surrounding Peter took place. I argue and will simply point out that the Holy Ghost had already exacted the time of these events in Acts 12:3 that preceded verse 4. Read with me please.
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
The passover is the days of unleavened bread. BIBLE. BIBLE. BIBLE. Now since the days of unleavened bread are mentioned in verse 3 and Easter is mentioned in verse 4 the discerning Bible student will want to know why both are recorded. And are they the same celabration? Keep this in mind; things that are different are not the same, just because they happen on the same day. Passover is a Jewish holy day that takes place during the same time period every year according to the Jewish calendar. Easter a pagan holiday on the other hand occurs on a different day every year in March or April and is determined by the equinox. Sometimes the Jewish Passover and Easter fall on the same day but are not the same celebration, and that is what happened in Acts chapter twelve, verses 3 and 4. Lets go the common sense route for a few minutes while the word of God sinks into your heart and think about these things for a few minutes. Selah.
Would an evil degenerate like Herod be celebrating a supposed Christian holiday; Easter; by arresting and turning one of Jesus’ holy apostles over to the Jews to be killed? The word Easter is only mentioned one time in the new testament, and Acts 1 through 11 do not record the establishment of even one holiday, let alone the Roman Catholic’s pagan Easter.
Roman Catholics as expected will reject the above Biblical teaching. My hope is that born again Christians will see how the Vatican has inserted yet another heresy into Christian worship.
